Day #6- Our trip to Banff

Hello everyone, today we got up bright an early and ate our breakfast at 7:30. After we gathered our things and said goodbye to our new friends from the Red Water stetsons and spurs group here in Alberta, Spencer and Chris. Then we loaded up the vans and headed out.

The car ride was really long and most of us just slept. We took a break after two hours at a Costco in Red Deer. After that we headed out again and drove to Innisfail, to see the police dog training facility. It was really nice and there were a few dogs outside but, most didn't come out because it was soo hot! Staff Sgt. Patrick MacIssac was the man who took us for a tour and showed us all around. There was a memorial there for all the dogs and their trainers who have past away, as well as a puppy playground, and a bigger training area for when the dogs grew up. When the tour was over we sat in the gazeebo and ate our lunch. When everyone was finished eating we cleaned up and began on the road once more.

This part of the roadtrip was nice because you could see the Rocky mountains, they were really pretty and big! Lots of pictures were taken! :) It was really long but, around 4:30 we arrived at our destination in Banff. We are staying in the Alpine Lodge Hostel, and here we share rooms. The rooms have bunks and a bathroom. We put our stuff in our rooms and went down for supper. We ate quick and went upstairs to change.

We put on our bathing suits and made our way to the Hot Springs! They were really warm, sometimes too warm. We stayed there for awhile but, we were kicked out when a kid got sick in the pool. So, we left around 9:30 and went to McDonalds for some ice cream. Ice cream took awhile because it was busy. And we didn't end up getting back until about 10:45. On the way home we saw an elk and later on Samantha spotted a coyote. Soon we are all going to bed to get a good night sleep before tomorrow. So goodnight, and see you all soon!
